Event Overview

The Phoenix Energy Belfast City Marathon is a running event in Northern Ireland. The main marathon is certified by AIMS (Association of International Marathons and Distance Races). Key Information

The marathon and team relay must be completed within 6 hours. The half marathon has a 3-hour time limit. The women's 10k must be finished in under 2 hours, and the 5k in under 1 hour. Walking is permitted in the marathon but not in the half marathon, which is a competitive running event.

The event has a pacing team. In-ear headphones are not permitted, but bone-conducting headphones are allowed. Dogs, skateboards, rollerblades, and unauthorised wheeled devices are not permitted on the course. Only hand-propelled or aided wheelchairs are allowed for the marathon and half marathon, with prior permission required.

Race packs for the marathon, team relay, and half marathon are collected at an expo in the Waterfront Hall. Packs for the 5k fun run are posted to participants. Entry transfers are possible through an official system for a fee during a designated transfer window. The event operates a strict no-refund policy, though deferrals may be considered for medical reasons.
