Event Overview
The Bel Air Town Run is a community running event organized by the Harford County Running Club, an affiliate of the Road Runners Club of America (RRCA). It takes place on Sunday, June 7, 2026, in Bel Air, Maryland. The event includes a 5K run and a 1 mile fun run/walk.
The 5K is part of the RRCA Championship Series, specifically designated as a Regional Championship race. The event aims to promote health, fitness, and running.
Amenities and Awards
All participants receive an event t-shirt, water on the course and at the finish, a finisher medal, and chip timing with splits at each mile. Registrants aged 21 and over receive a complimentary beer coupon for the Independent Brewing Company beer garden, while participants under 21 receive a frozen treat.
The event offers cash awards for top finishers. Prizes are given for the top three male, female, and non-binary runners in Open and Masters (40+) categories, based on gun time. Age group awards are also given for the top three male and female finishers in five-year increments. A special "Fit For Duty" category awards the top three finishers from military, police, and fire who complete the course wearing 35 lbs or more of turnout gear.
Course Information
The 5K course is a point-to-point route on paved streets, primarily through a residential area. The organizers describe it as a "downhill point to point course," but note that the course map shows hills. Sections of Main Street and Lee Way are closed to traffic, with police officers at major intersections and course marshals at most others. The course is marked with white chalk on the road.
