Event overview
Beecraigs Backyard Ultra takes place at Beecraigs Country Park near Linlithgow, West Lothian, Scotland on 25 April 2026 to 26 April 2026. Entry status is listed as Waiting List and the event has a total of 150 places. The format follows the Backyard Ultra model: runners repeat a fixed loop until only one runner completes a solo lap.
Format and course
Each lap is 4.167 miles (6.7056 km) and includes approximately 150 m of elevation gain per loop. The route uses a mix of forest trail, gravel paths, and undulating woodland tracks. Runners must complete each loop within 60 minutes to be eligible to start the next lap. Route markings will be consistent and GPX and Strava links will be published ahead of the event.
Facilities, rules and prizes
Entry includes race participation and timing, one parking space per runner, access to a camping area, a covered rest area, drinks and basic snacks for runners, toilets, live lap tracking, and a DNF memento. On-site facilities include hot and cold water, a covered rest marquee, and first aiders. Rules state no poles or on-course assistance, support may be provided only between laps, and runners may leave the course only to use the toilet. The last runner standing who completes a solo lap is declared the winner; if no solo lap is completed, there is no winner. The winner receives a trophy and free entry to the next year’s event.
