Because You Can 5K
The Because You Can 5K is a Halloween-themed community run and walk created in memory of an avid runner who died of breast cancer. The event combines a 5K course with family-friendly activities and invites participants to wear costumes and gather with friends.
The event is scheduled for November 1 at Dublin Jerome High School, 8300 Hyland-Croy Rd, Dublin, Ohio. It is organized by Kateswell and lists a kids run / trick-or-treat option alongside the main 5K.
Proceeds support Kateswell and its fund that provides direct financial assistance to Central Ohio families facing cancer. Assistance covers needs such as housing, utilities, food, medical expenses and transportation. Organizers state that sponsors cover production costs so that 100% of each registration and donation goes to helping families.
Logistics noted by the organizer include a 5K entry fee of $40, a free kids run / trick-or-treat option, and an optional shirt purchase listed at $20. Pre-race packet pickup is planned for October 30 and October 31 at Mikey’s Late Night Slice in Dublin Bridge Park, with times to be determined. Race registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
