Beaverton Half Marathon
The event includes three distances: a half marathon, a 10K, and a 5K, with start and finish located near Portland Running Company in Beaverton on SW Gemini and SW Nimbus Ave. The route uses much of the Fanno Creek Path. The 5K is an out-and-back course that crosses Hall Blvd and has a turnaround on Fanno Creek; it is described as mostly flat. The 10K and half marathon share the first 6.21 miles; half marathoners return to the start/finish for a second loop.
Walkers are welcome. The course is open for four hours; an early walk start is available for half marathoners who expect a pace no faster than 15:00 minutes per mile (4 mph). While on the Fanno Creek Path, participants are asked to stay two abreast and to the right.
Race day services and logistics include packet pick up at Portland Running Company in Beaverton and at the start/finish area, gear check near SW Gemini just north of PRC, free parking in the surrounding business park with no parking at Portland Running Company, and volunteer-directed parking. Timing updates are posted in real time and finish text alerts are available for entrants who registered with a cell phone number.
Awards are given with ribbons 3 deep in age groups from 14 and under through 80 and over. Strollers and dogs are not allowed on the race course. Included with entry are an official NIKE event tee, a pint glass, a commemorative medal, and a post race party. The event organizer does not offer refunds.
