Cook Medical Beat the Heat 5K
The Cook Medical Beat the Heat 5K takes place on July 18, 2026, at the Winston-Salem Fairgrounds, 410 Deacon Blvd, Winston-Salem, NC 27105. The event has been held for more than 30 years. It is part of the We Run Winston race series and was selected as the National 5K Championship Race for the Road Runners Club of America. Proceeds support local charities.

Registration opens April 1, 2026 at 6:00am EDT. Published entry fees are $10 for the Family Fun Run, $35 for the Beat the Heat 5K (increases to $40 after the first 100 registrants), and $35 for the Elite 5K. The Elite 5K entry list shows 30 spots remaining. Charity partner applications are accepted through January 9, 2026.
