Project Refresh "Beat The Heat" 5K/10K/Fun Run
The Beat The Heat event in North Augusta, South Carolina, features several distances for participants to choose from:
- 10 km Run/Walk
- 5 km Run/Walk
- Kids Fun Run for children aged 12 and under
The course begins at the Hammonds Ferry Soccer Complex and follows the path of the North Augusta Greeneway. To manage the summer temperatures, the route includes soaking stations equipped with water blasters designed to cool down participants during the activity.
The event concludes back at the Hammonds Ferry Soccer Complex. Following the completion of the races, an awards ceremony is held at the site. Food options are available for purchase at the venue after the run. All proceeds from the event support Project Refresh Inc., an organization that operates a mobile shower service for individuals in the CSRA without access to clean shower facilities.
