The Event
Beat the Bugs is a 5 km or 10 km trail race held at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Centre. The course uses cross-country ski and single track trails throughout the Otway trail system. The 5 km route is described as relatively flat.

The event takes place on Sunday, June 14, 2026, at the Caledonia Nordic Ski Centre, located at 8141 Otway Road.
Registration and Fees
Prince George Road Runners (PGRR) members participate for free but must register to receive a bib number. For non-members, early registration fees are $15 for the 5 km and $20 for the 10 km. A $5 discount is available for registering online in advance. Entry fees are non-refundable and non-transferable between participants.
Course Details
The race course changes from year to year. The route difficulty is noted as intermediate to advanced for the 10 km distance. The trail surface is gravel and dirt. A free kids race is included. For safety and liability reasons, dogs and headphones are not permitted.
