B.E.A.R.D. 5K / 10K : Lenexa, KS
B.E.A.R.D. 5K/10K is the second annual running event held in Lenexa on February 28, 2026. The event honors a fellow runner known as the Bearded Runner who was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in 2023 and who was active in the local running community. During treatment he remained active and reached 300 lifetime races at the inaugural B.E.A.R.D. event.
The event offers paved trail courses and separate categories for children. The start and finish are located by Shelter 2 on Small Lakes Road in Lenexa. Post‑race features listed by the organizer include music at an after party, event shirts where availability may be limited after February 13, 2026, and custom finisher medals. Registrants age 12 and under receive a finisher teddy bear. The organizer notes free parking on site and that 100 percent of donations made through the event donate link will go directly to Ainsley’s Angels.
