Event Overview
The Bearcat Pride 5k Run/Walk is an annual community event held in Wadesboro, North Carolina. Now in its fifth year, this race serves as a fundraiser to support the Anson High School Cross Country Program. The event proceeds contribute to the growth of student-athlete opportunities and the potential development of a future cross-country course connecting the high school and middle school campuses.
The race follows a distance of 3.1 miles through the local area, starting and finishing near the First Presbyterian Church. Participants can choose to either run or walk the course. The event proceeds regardless of weather conditions, taking place rain or shine.

Restrooms, water, and snacks are provided at the church location. Participants who complete their registration by the specific April 2026 deadline are eligible to receive an event t-shirt. The gathering area at the church also serves as the site for packet pickup and the post-race awards presentation, which occurs shortly after the conclusion of the event.
