Logistics, requirements and on-course support

Entry requires prior ultramarathon experience: each entrant must have completed at least a 50-mile ultramarathon and be competent in self-navigation using map and compass. Entrants must be at least 20 years old and in good health. Mandatory kit includes a paper map of the area, a compass (not phone-based), a GPS tracker provided by the organisers, a headtorch and backup light, thermal survival bag, waterproof coat and trousers, a minimum 1-litre water container and emergency rations. GPS trackers remain property of the organiser and must be returned; replacement charges apply if lost. Checkpoints provide food, drinks and a medic at each location. Dropbags may be transported to two midrace checkpoints and to the finish (maximum 50 litres). One pacer on foot is permitted from the halfway checkpoint; some checkpoints do not allow support crews. Live online GPS tracking is provided during the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
