The Beach2Beach Running Festival
The Beach2Beach is a coastal running event held on the Northern Beaches of Sydney. Established in 1994 and organized by the Rotary Club of Brookvale, the festival has operated for over 30 years as a charity-focused community event. Participants follow a scenic route that links several iconic beaches in the region, with courses designed for both running and walking.
The event offers four distinct distances to accommodate various participation levels:
- Half Marathon
- 14 km Run
- 6 km Run
- 3 km Run
The shorter courses follow specific coastal segments. The 13 km to 14 km route typically spans from Dee Why Beach to Newport Beach. The 6 km course starts at Warriewood and finishes at Newport Beach, while the 3 km course begins at Mona Vale and also concludes at Newport Beach.
The finish line at Newport Beach hosts a community festival. This gathering includes live music, a licensed bar area, international food vendors, and entertainment such as rides and games. As a charity fun run, the event directs proceeds toward local organizations. Over its history, the festival has raised more than $7 million for various charitable causes, including Life Education Australia, Surf Life Saving Northern Beaches, and Bear Cottage.
