BE THE LIGHT 5K RUN/WALK for NICU families
The inaugural BE THE LIGHT 5K Run Walk is hosted by Fearfully and Wonderfully Made during September NICU awareness month. The event is organized to support families who experience neonatal intensive care and to acknowledge NICU staff, parents, and infants.
Activities on the schedule include a community 5K run walk, a lantern and candle release, a free child and stroller participation option, and an All Tucked In support category. The 5K has a registration fee of $35.00. The lantern and candle release has a registration fee of $15.00. The All Tucked In option has a registration fee of $20.00 and does not include a T shirt or participation medal. Children under 12 may participate at no cost when accompanied by an adult; those children will not receive an event T shirt and a waiver must be completed for each child whether in a stroller or walking.
The course starts and finishes at the Christus St. Michael Hospital campus located at 2600 Saint Michael Drive in Texarkana Texas and follows the Sisters Trail along Galleria Oaks Drive to Robin Lane before returning to the campus. Strollers are welcome with consideration for other participants. Pets are not allowed. Organizers encourage participants to bring glow items for visibility.
