About the race
The GeelKlip Spring Rush 2026 combines an obstacle course race, trail runs and mountain bike events on Middelwater farm near GeelKlip on the R30 Brandfort Road, about 30 km outside Bloemfontein in the Free State, South Africa.
Trail routes follow mostly flat jeep tracks across the farm and are offered in three distances:
- 8 km Trail Run
- 15 km Trail Run
- 20 km Trail Run
Mountain bike options include two point to point routes with no loops for a single-route experience:
- 26 km MTB
- 47 km MTB
Obstacle Course Race formats include a main challenge with over 25 obstacles and shorter options for different ages:
- 7 km Obstacle Course Challenge with 25+ obstacles
- 3 km Fun OCR with the same obstacles scaled down
- 2 km Kiddies OCR for under 11s
A combined discipline option is proposed that pairs the 26 km MTB with the 15 km trail run for a total of 41 km; this combo will be made available only if there is sufficient interest.
