Event Overview
The Gene Parks Annual 5K Walk/Run takes place on Saturday, April 11, 2026, in Russiaville, Indiana. The event is based at the Russiaville Lions Club at 555 North Liberty.
Events and Registration
Three events are offered:
- 1 Mile Fun Run/Walk
- 5K Walk/Run
- Double Play (a combination of the 1 Mile and 5K events)
Participants can pre-register or register on the day of the race at the Lions Club. Parking is available at the Jeff Stout Community Center, with a short walk to the start area.
Course and Details
The 5K course heads south of Russiaville and curves back. A course map is available via MapMyRun. Participants age 12 and under in the 1 Mile Fun Run receive a medal. Pre-registered participants are assured a towel, with additional towels available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Charity Partnership
The event partners with Ainsley's Angels of America, a non-profit organization that promotes inclusion for the special needs community. Riders with Ainsley's Angels participate free of charge. Funds raised are split between Ainsley's Angels and the Carl Koontz Scholarship Fund. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
