About the race
The Baystate Marathon, Half Marathon and Relay are scheduled for Sunday, October 18, 2026. The event offers multiple race options and is organized by the Greater Lowell Road Runners.

The marathon entry is sold out; a wait list is open and operates on a first-come, first-served basis through the registration platform. There is still available capacity in the Half Marathon and Relay.
Organizers describe the race as volunteer-run; the event is produced entirely by volunteers and proceeds support the local running community. Funds from the race provide scholarships to local high school seniors, support the GLRR Youth Program, offer donations to high schools that staff water stops, and partially fund benefits associated with GLRR membership.
Recent event enhancements at the finish and race venue include finish-line monitors that display a runner’s name and finishing time, courtesy changing tents adjacent to bag check, an expo next to the start/finish area, a Recovery Tent with massage and physical therapy services, personalized photo galleries available the next day, a BQ/PR bell with a photographer, and a Motivation Mile lined with signs. The organizers note there is no live video feed of the race.
The race received regional recognition for Boston qualification: ranked #1 in the Northeast for Boston qualification by Outside in 2025 and #7 by findmymarathon for 2025. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
