Bay Shore Engine Company Run to the Pump 5K
The event is a community 5K run and walk with an additional free fun run, held in Brightwaters, NY. Proceeds benefit the Bay Shore Engine Company No. 1, a volunteer nonprofit fire service that provides fire prevention and suppression in the Bay Shore and Brightwaters area.

Amenities at the event include a one-of-a-kind Bay Shore Engine Company No. 1 race t-shirt for the first 175 registrants, beer service (brewery to be announced), a sponsorship after party at Walker Beach in Brightwaters, food from the Impractical Smokers food truck, refreshments, raffles, and free post-run stretching provided by Elite Strength LI. An award ceremony will follow the event.
Awards recognize first and second place male and female finishers in separate categories for Police, EMS, Fire Department, and Healthcare Provider (these are also eligible for age group awards). Age group awards are given to the top three male and female finishers in the following groups: 14 and under, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 plus.
The course is USATF certified. Early bib pickup is offered the day before at the Bay Shore Fire Department headquarters, and in-person pickup is available onsite before the event.
