Bay Shore Engine Company Run to the Pump 5K
The Bay Shore Engine Company Run to the Pump is a community run/walk event held in Brightwaters, NY on July 18, 2026. The event includes a formal 5K and a free fun run. Proceeds benefit the Bay Shore Engine Company No. 1, a volunteer not-for-profit fire service that has served the Bay Shore and Brightwaters area for over 100 years.

Amenities listed for the event include a one-of-a-kind race t-shirt for the first 175 registrants with sizes guaranteed by June 15, post-race refreshments and raffles, beer service, and food from the Impractical Smokers food truck. A sponsorship after party is planned at Walker Beach in Brightwaters. Elite Strength LI will offer post-run stretching services and an award ceremony will follow to honor top finishers.
Awards are given to the top two male and female finishers in several public service categories including Police, EMS, Fire Department, and Healthcare Provider, and to the top three male and female finishers in age groups ranging from 14 and under through 70 and over.
Early bib pickup is scheduled for July 17 at the Bay Shore Fire Department headquarters, 195 5th Ave, Bay Shore, NY, and in-person pickup is available on event day.
