The Bay Shore Engine Company Run to the Pump is a community running event held on July 18, 2026, in Brightwaters, NY at Walker Park / Walker Beach. The event features a timed road 5K and a separate free Fun Run for children and families.

Event amenities include a one-of-a-kind Bay Shore Engine Company No. 1 race t-shirt for the first 175 registrants (size guaranteed by June 15), a post-race sponsorship after-party at Walker Beach, on-site food from the Impractical Smokers food truck, beer service during the post-race gathering, refreshments, raffles, and free post-race stretching provided by a local trainer. An award ceremony will follow the race.
Awards are given to the top two male and female finishers in the public safety categories (Police, EMS, Fire Department, Healthcare Provider) and to the top three male and female finishers in multiple age divisions, including 14 & under, 15-19, 20-24, and continuing in five-year increments up to 70+.
Proceeds benefit Bay Shore Engine Company No. 1, a volunteer, not-for-profit community fire service that provides fire prevention and suppression to the Bay Shore and Brightwaters area for over 100 years.
