Two Tunnels Railway Races
The Two Tunnels Railway Races are multi-distance running events based at Brickfields Park in Bath (BA2 1LX). The routes incorporate the Two Tunnels shared-use path running under Bath, with the Devonshire Tunnel (408 m) and Combe Down Tunnel (1672 m) both well lit and surfaced for runners, walkers and cyclists.
Events take place on 7 June 2026, 16 August 2026 and 21 February 2027. An automatic 20% discount applies to places for 21 February 2027 until 09:00 on Tuesday 10 March. Organisers contribute £1 per runner to Sustrans and report over £30,000 raised to date.
Distances offered include:
- Colourburst and children’s fun runs
- 5 km
- 10 km (two route options)
- Half marathon (three route options)
- Marathon
- 50 km Solo and 50 km Pair
- 5 x 10 km Relay
The event is affiliated to UK Athletics and several distances are officially measured; marathon distance is not officially measured and therefore not eligible for London Marathon qualification. Course surfaces vary by ticket type: Return Ticket routes are essentially tarmac, Hilly Ticket routes mix tarmac and trails, and City Ticket routes use tarmac, canal towpath and river path. There are no drinks stations on the 5 km; feed stations increase with distance (1 on 10 km, 3–5 on half, nine on marathon and nine on 50 km). All finishers of 5 km and longer receive a 10 cm by 10 cm two-sided medal. Facilities at Brickfields Park include toilets, food and coffee vans and a bag drop; there is no on-site parking.
