Two Tunnels Races
The Two Tunnels Races are held in Bath, utilizing the Two Tunnels Trails that pass beneath the city. The event stages several distances on a course that includes the Devonshire Tunnel (408m) and the Combe Down Tunnel (1672m). These tunnels are well-lit, paved, and integrated into a shared-use path.
Participants can choose from a variety of distances, including:
- 500m and 2km Colourburst fun runs with optional obstacles
- 5 km (Measured by UK Athletics)
- 10 km (Available as Return Ticket or Hilly Ticket routes)
- Half Marathon (Available as Return Ticket, Hilly Ticket, or City Ticket)
- Marathon (City Ticket route)
- 50 km Ultra Marathon (Solo, Pairs, or 5x10km Relay)
The terrain varys depending on the chosen route. Return Ticket routes are almost entirely tarmac. Hilly Ticket routes include a mixture of tarmac, woodland trails, and stone paths. City Ticket routes consist of tarmac, canal towpaths, and river paths. Runners are set off in waves of approximately 100 people to ensure space on the course.
The event village is located at Brickfields Park, which features a children's playground. On-site facilities include toilets, coffee and food vans, and a bag drop service. There are no changing rooms available. As there is no parking at the race site, a shuttle bus operates from the Odd Down Park & Ride. The nearest train station, Oldfield Park, is located 800m from the start and finish area.
Course support includes marshals and "feast stations" stocked with water, electrolyte drinks, and various snacks, including gluten-free, dairy-free, and vegan options. All finishers of the 5 km distance or longer receive a custom medal. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
