Chew Valley 10k - Sunday 7 June 2026
The Chew Valley 10k is a chip-timed, UK Athletics licensed road race held around Bishop Sutton and nearby villages in the Mendip Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. The course follows undulating rural lanes, with closed roads at the start and finish and minimal traffic on the main open sections. Key route features include Widcombe Common, Coley Hill, Back Lane, Upper Road in Hinton Blewett, Sutton Hill Road and Church Lane, finishing near Bishop Sutton Primary School.
Race headquarters are at Bishop Sutton Village Hall, with a village field for warm-up, refreshments, toilets, free supervised kit and bike storage. Free parking is provided at Westway Farm close to the venue. The event provides a bespoke event medal, free professional event photos, and chip timing. There are male and female overall prizes, age-category prizes from 15 years and in ten-year brackets including an 80+ category, and a Team Cup scored from up to five entrants.
Accessibility arrangements include a free buddy or guide runner place and a route recce on request. Entrants must be able to complete the course within 1 hour 40 minutes to align with road re-openings at approximately 11:15. Free transfers are permitted up to 10 May 2026; refunds are not available. An optional event technical T-shirt is offered for purchase with a specified ordering deadline. The event supports several local beneficiaries.
