Event Overview
The Bath Half Marathon is a long-standing running event first established in 1982. It takes place in the heart of Bath, a city designated as a World Heritage Site. The course leads participants through traffic-free streets, providing a unique way to experience the urban landscape of south-west England.
This event is recognized as the largest charity fundraising event in the region. Since 2000, participants have raised more than £30 million for various charitable causes.
Distances and Schedule
The event weekend features two primary distances:
- 13.1 miles (Half Marathon)
- 1 mile (Bath Miles)
The one-mile event typically takes place on Saturday, followed by the half marathon on Sunday. The one-mile race is free to enter, and finishers receive a souvenir medal.
Course Features and Support
The course environment is supported by live entertainment, including seven different musical groups such as the BathTub Orchestra, Paper Jam, and Jamma de Samba, ranging from jazz and blues to rock and samba beats. Four cheer buses are also stationed along the route.

- Hydration: Drinks stations located along the route provide water and energy gels. These stations are accessible to wheelchair users, and participants with hydration packs can refill their own bottles.
- Facilities: Toilets, including accessible options, are available at the start, finish, and all drinks stations. Sanitary products and bladder pads are provided at information points and drinks stations.
- Specialized Spaces: The finish area includes a Sensory Calm Space, a Parent and Child Space for breastfeeding or pumping, and a Multi-Faith Prayer Space.
- Transport: A shuttle bus service is available for participants to reach the start and finish areas.
