About the race
The Bataan Memorial Death March is held in person at White Sands Missile Range, NM on March 20, 2027, and is also offered as a virtual march with a completion window from March 20 through March 27, 2027. The event offers two course options:
- 26.4 miles (full march)
- 15.6 miles (honorary march)
Participants may register as Individuals or Teams and may select a "heavy" or "light" category. The heavy category requires carrying a minimum of 35 pounds on the back. Placement medals (1st and 2nd) are awarded only to those registered for the full 26.4 mile march. There are no team categories or placement medals for the honorary distance. Finisher medals are provided to participants in every category who cross the finish line.
Virtual registrants use a Virtual Race app that records activity via phone GPS and uploads verified times. Packet mailing for virtual participants is subject to supply availability; registrations completed by February 21, 2027 are expected to receive packets by March 20, 2027 while supplies last. Virtual packets may include a marcher t-shirt, bib, and participation medal while supplies last, and registrants can download a customizable participation certificate. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
