Bassingham Bash 5 Mile Road Race

The Bassingham Bash is a flat, fast 5-mile road race held on quiet rural roads around Bassingham, Lincolnshire. The race takes place as part of the annual Bassingham Village Show, which includes displays and attractions and food and drink outlets. The event is supported by Sports Clinical.

2026 marks the 22nd annual staging of the race. Course records are 23:29.7 for men (August 2023) and 25:56.6 for women (August 2024). There is over £750 in cash prizes for the first three senior men and women and the first three U23 men and women, plus a cash bonus if course records are broken. Veteran prizes are awarded in V40, V50 and V60 age groups for men and women, and local athlete prizes are also offered.

Entry is available in affiliated and unaffiliated categories, with listed fees of £20 and £22 respectively. Entries are non-refundable and cannot be deferred; transfers to another runner are available until midnight on 26/07/2026. Minimum age for entry is 15 years on the day of the race.

All funds from the event are used to support athlete development projects in the Newark and Lincolnshire area. The race is run under UKA rules; licence number is stated as TBC.
