Bassingham Bash 5 Mile Road Race
The Bassingham Bash is a fast, flat five mile road race on quiet rural roads in Bassingham, Lincolnshire. It forms part of the annual Bassingham Village Show, which includes displays and attractions and food and drink outlets. The 2026 event is the 22nd annual staging and the race has produced fast times over the five mile distance in previous years.
The event offers separate prize categories for senior, under 23, masters and veteran age groups, with veteran prizes for V40, V50 and V60 and additional local athlete prizes. There is over £750 of cash prize money for the first three senior men and women and the first three U23 men and women, plus a cash bonus if the course records are broken. Course records stand at 23:29.7 from August 2023 and 25:56.6 from August 2024.
Minimum age for entry is 15 years on the day of the race. Entry options include affiliated and unaffiliated categories with entry fees shown by the organiser. Entries are non refundable and cannot be deferred, but transfers to another runner are permitted until midnight on 26/07/2026. The race is run under UKA rules and holds an England Athletics licence, number 31432. Race day information will be issued in the week before the event.
