Basingstoke Half Marathon
The Destination Basingstoke Phillips Law Half Marathon is an organised running event that takes place in and around Basingstoke. The event includes a half marathon alongside a 10k and, since 2025, a 5k. The 2026 event is scheduled for Sunday 4 October.
The course uses traffic free roads and passes through countryside and villages. It includes notable hills near Cliddesden and Farleigh Wallop. The organiser provides event support and separate start times have been used to manage the half marathon and 10k fields. In 2025 the event recorded over 1,700 runners and in 2023 the 10k route was altered to encourage faster times.
Children’s racing is part of the weekend. In 2026 a free one mile race for 5 to 10 year olds is planned with headline sponsorship from Phillips Law. The 5k added in 2025 follows a similar scenic route to the main events, reaches a turning point on Farleigh Road and returns to the main finish area. Event partners include Phillips Law and Lilly, and the event is organised by Destination Basingstoke.
