Basalt Half Marathon & Relay : 49th Annual
The 49th Annual Basalt Half Marathon and 2-person Relay will be held on Saturday June 06, 2026. The event finishes at Basalt Middle School and benefits the Basalt High School Cross Country program.
The course begins with a quarter mile on a dirt road, then descends approximately 1,000 feet along Frying Pan Road, which is paved. There are four aid stations along the route and each mile is clearly marked. The course is open to traffic; runners are instructed to stay on the left facing traffic, run single file or on the shoulder when encountering vehicles, and avoid cutting tangents.
Entry options include online registration or a mailed, printable registration form. Mail-in entries may be sent to 501 Kiln Ct., Basalt, CO 81621. Checks should be made payable to Basalt High School Cross Country. Packet pick-up is available before bus boarding at Basalt Middle School; there is no additional packet pick-up for second leg relay runners.
Awards are given to the top three finishers in each age group and to the top relay team in each category. Age group divisions are 19 and under, then 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 and over. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
