2026 Basalt Half Marathon & Relay

The Basalt Half Marathon & Relay takes place in Basalt, Colorado, and follows a course through the Frying Pan Valley. This event serves as a benefit for the Basalt High School Cross Country team and marks the 49th annual edition of the race. The course is characterized as a fast downhill route.

Participants can choose from the following event categories:

  • Half marathon (Individual Age group/open)
  • 2-Person Relay (Individual Age group/open)

The event logistics are centered at Basalt Middle School, which serves as the location for parking and the finish area. Transportation is provided for runners, with buses departing from the middle school to transport participants to the start line.

Facilities and services provided include a gear check service available at the start line and the relay exchange point, with items transported to the finish area. Restrooms are located at Basalt Middle School, the race start line, and the relay exchange point. Packet pick-up is organized early on the morning of the event at the middle school site.

Recognition is given to the top three overall male and female finishers. Additionally, medals are awarded to the top three participants in each age group for both males and females.
