Barry Island 10K
The Barry Island 10K is a seaside road running event delivered by Run 4 Wales. Races are set around Barry Island and nearby streets, with the 10K taking place on fully closed roads. The course passes Whitmore Bay, the promenade, Barry Dock Offices, Subway Road, Broad Street, Barry Train Station, Romilly Park, and Watch House Bay, with scenic views near Porthkerry Country Park from about the 6 km mark. The finish runs alongside the gardens of Friars Road and returns to the island promenade.

- Junior races: Fun Run, Toddler Dash, Future Challengers
Race entries include a finishers medal and a technical race t-shirt. Participants receive a race pack posted within a week of the event. On-course support includes at least one water station, course entertainment, Event Village facilities and live tracking via the Run 4 Wales app. Entry is open to wheelchairs in both the 10K and Family Fun Run; buggies are permitted only in the Fun Run. There are options for corporate teams through a Business Challenge and a route for elite entries with qualifying information and prize details.
A Welsh language arts and culture festival, Gŵyl Fach y Fro, runs on the Saturday of the event weekend and has been extended into a full weekend alongside the races.
Charity fundraising options include a partnership with Cancer Research Wales, which asks participants who join TeamCRW to pledge a minimum sponsorship amount and offers fundraising support and event items for supporters. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
