Barry Island 10K
Barry Island 10K is a road race of 10 km held on fully closed roads in Barry Island. The route runs along the seafront and passes recognizable seaside locations including Whitmore Bay, The Knap, Romilly Park and Watch House Bay. The race forms part of the R4W 10K Series.
Start and finish are at Whitmore Bay. The same area hosts an Event Village with live music, entertainment, vendor stands and street food. The promenade also hosts a range of children’s activities, including a Family Fun Run and a Toddler Dash.
The event takes place against a backdrop of sun, sea and sand and highlights the town’s seaside landmarks. Participants can relax on deck chairs after the race or choose an optional dip in the sea on Barry’s sandy blue flag beach.
