Barossa Marathon Festival
The Barossa Marathon Festival takes place on 23 August 2026 and starts at The Rex (Barossa Aquatic Centre) on Magnolia Road. The course is described as flat and fast and runs through Barossa wine country. Distances offered cover short and long road events.
- 42.2 km Marathon
- 21.1 km Half Marathon
- 10 km Race
- 5 km Run
The race day village is located at The Rex on Magnolia Road. The start, the 42.2 km turn and the finish are all positioned on Magnolia Road in front of the Aquatic Centre. The venue provides toilet and shower facilities and a basketball court used for bib collection, merchandise sales and bag drop. The centre canteen supplies hot and cold beverages and light meals.
Bib collection is organised at RunDNA in Hindmarsh on the days prior to the event and at The Rex before race day. Marathon entrants may leave a personal drink at any of six designated drink stations; bottles should be marked with the runner’s bib number and chosen station and dropped off before race day.
Access to race morning parking is via Barossa Valley Way along Magnolia Road or via Neldner Road, and parking is limited in the Rex area. The South Australian Road Runners Club operates the event and provides a bus service between Adelaide and the race to assist with travel.
