True Grit Barossa 2026
True Grit debuts in the Barossa region with a military-inspired obstacle course set at Barossa Helicopters in Lyndoch. The event utilizes the local landscape to host over 30 obstacles on its primary course, featuring natural terrain and specific equipment designed for crawling, climbing, and running.
Participants can choose from three distinct options:
- 10km Elite – A timed competitive wave for participants aged 16 and over, featuring mandatory obstacle completion or burpee penalties.
- 10km – The standard course consisting of over 30 obstacles, open to participants aged 16 and over.
- 5km – A shorter version featuring over 15 obstacles, open to participants aged 12 and over.
The course includes various obstacles such as A-frames, monkey bars, pontoon bridges, rope climbs, and sandbag carries. While the Elite wave is timed and competitive, the standard waves focus on teamwork and personal achievement. Participants can enter as individuals or as part of a team. A dedicated Black Dog Wave is available for solo participants who wish to complete the course alongside others.
On-site unpowered camping is available for the weekend, providing access to toilets. The venue includes parking for a fee of $10 per vehicle. Finishers receive a t-shirt and electrolyte drink upon completion. Water stations are provided on the course, and medical treatment is available throughout the event. Spectator entry is free of charge. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
