Barnsley 10k 2026
The Barnsley 10k is a road race organized by the Barnsley Council Sport and Physical Activity team. The event takes place on fully closed roads through the town centre of Barnsley, South Yorkshire. The course consists of a single 10 km lap with an undulating profile. The race has an entry limit of 2,000 participants and is open to runners aged 15 and older.
Participants follow a route that begins and ends in the town centre, with Race HQ located at The Glass Works. Facilities provided for runners include water stations, distance markers, and portable toilets. While there are no changing or shower facilities on-site, a baggage storage area is available at the Barnsley Indoor Market.
All finishers of the race receive a commemorative t-shirt and access to free digital photographs to mark the occasion. Prizes are awarded to the first three male and female finishers overall. Additionally, awards are given to the top male and female runners in several veteran age categories ranging from V35 to V70+.
The event permits place transfers until mid-June, and refunds are available up to 28 days before the race day. Entry on the day of the event is not available. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
