Barnsley 10K 2026
The Barnsley 10K takes place in Barnsley, South Yorkshire on Sunday 28 June 2026. The event is delivered by the Sport and Physical Activity Team at Barnsley Council and runs on fully closed town centre roads.
The course is a single lap of 10 km on road with an undulating profile. The race has an entry limit of 2000 and is marked as full for this edition. The event holds a race licence status listed as pending and is described as suitable for wheelchairs.
Facilities at the Race HQ at The Glass Works, Barnsley include water stations, distance markers, toilets and baggage storage. Baggage storage is provided at Barnsley Indoor Market and is used at the runner's own risk. There are no changing facilities or showers on site.
All finishers receive a commemorative t shirt and free race photos. Competitive prizes are offered to the first three male and first three female finishers, and to the first male and female in age categories V35, V40, V45, V50, V55, V60, V65 and V70 plus. Transfers to another runner are allowed free until 14 June 2026. Refunds are permitted up to 28 days before the event subject to a transaction charge; there is no deferral policy and no waiting list.
The minimum age is 15 on race day. Competitors aged 15 to 17 must have permission from someone over 18 provided to the organisers or their entry may be null and void. Entry fees are listed as £27.50 for affiliated runners and £29.50 for unaffiliated runners. One hundred charity entries are available for organisations within the Barnsley area.
