Bare Bones Ice Cream 5K and Fun Run
The 25th annual Bare Bones Ice Cream 5K and Fun Run is held at Overton Elementary School in Salisbury, NC. The event includes a community 5K and a half mile fun run on the greenway. Distances offered:

- 0.5 Miles
The 5K course begins near Overton Elementary and follows a measured route along West Park Road, local streets and the greenway with a cul-de-sac turnaround on Prescott before returning to the school finish area. The fun run is an out-and-back on the greenway.
Dry fit T-shirts are provided to all runners and walkers. The 5K awards top three overall male and female finishers and top three in each age group male and female; age groups are 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 and over. The fun run awards the top three overall finishers.
Each participant in the 5K and fun run receives a complimentary ice cream provided by Aqua14 Ice Cream; spectators may purchase ice cream. The event includes door prizes and a shoe donation drive for Rowan Helping Ministries. Timing and scoring for the 5K are provided by Salisbury Rowan Runners. Proceeds benefit Relay for Life.
