Bare Bones Ice Cream 5K and Fun Run
The 25th annual Bare Bones Ice Cream 5K and Fun Run takes place on 05/23/2026 at Overton Elementary School in Salisbury, North Carolina. The event is organized by Salisbury Rowan Runners in conjunction with Salisbury Parks & Recreation and includes both a timed 5K run and a short fun run on the greenway.

Advance registration fees are $30 for the 5K and $10 for the fun run. Race day registration is listed at $35 for the 5K and $10 for the fun run. Registration opens March 17, 2026 and closes prior to race day for the 5K; fun run registration remains open through race morning.
All runners and walkers receive dry fit T shirts. Each participant in the 5K and fun run receives a complimentary scoop of Landis Creamery ice cream; spectators may purchase ice cream. Awards for the 5K include top three overall male and female and top three in each age group: 10 and under, 11 to 14, 15 to 19, 20 to 24, 25 to 29, 30 to 34, 35 to 39, 40 to 44, 45 to 49, 50 to 54, 55 to 59, 60 to 64, 65 to 69, and 70 and over. The fun run awards top three overall.
Additional features include door prizes, a shoe donation collection for Rowan Helping Ministries, finish line videos available online, and timing and scoring provided by Salisbury Rowan Runners.
