Sunset 10K
The Sunset 10K is an off-road running event located in the Wiltshire countryside near Wroughton. Now in its fourth year, the race follows a 10 km route consisting of tracks and grass surfaces. The course utilizes The Old Ridgeway and includes several elevation changes, notably a section referred to as the Iron Age Attack.
Participants run underneath Barbury Castle and traverse the Smeathes Ridge. The event starts and finishes at the Barbury Shooting School. The course is fully marshalled by members of the Wroughton Whippets Running Club, and first aid services are available on-site.
The event features several amenities and regulations:
- 10 km off-road course
- Finishers receive a unique medal and a drink
- Toilets and a bag drop are available at the event headquarters
- Post-race refreshments include a bar and a BBQ
- Dogs are permitted if kept on a lead
On-site parking is available at the shooting school. All profits from the event are donated to the Wiltshire and Bath Air Ambulance Charity. There are no entries available on the day of the race, and registration typically closes several days before the event or when the participant limit is reached.
