Bamburgh Castle Duathlons 2026
The event returns to Bamburgh Castle and uses paths and trails around the castle grounds for the runs, with cycle routes on open roads along the Northumberland coast. Any type of push bike may be used and a relay option is available.
Distances:
- Sprint Duathlon: Run 5km, Cycle 20+km, Run 2.5km
- Standard Duathlon: Run 10km, Cycle 40+km, Run 5km
The event is held on open roads; the Highway Code must be followed and a cycling helmet is compulsory. A secure transition area is provided for competitors only. Race numbers and bike numbers correspond to racking spots. Small bags or boxes are permitted inside transition. Bike number must be attached and helmet visible before entering transition and bib and bike numbers will be checked before exiting.
Live chip timing will be used. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. An exclusive event T-shirt is available to purchase for £12.
