Bamburgh Castle Duathlons 2026
The Bamburgh Castle Duathlons take place at the car park on Links Road, Bamburgh, NE69 7AX (what3words ///posting.reflector.poodle). Runs use paths and trails around the castle grounds and the cycle stages use open roads along the Northumberland coastline. The organiser states that any type of push bike can be used.
Distances are offered in two formats:
- Sprint Duathlon: Run 5km, cycle 20+km, run 2.5km
- Standard Duathlon: Run 10km, cycle 40+km, run 5km
Relay entries are available for both Sprint and Standard formats. The event is held on open roads; the Highway Code must be followed and a cycling helmet is compulsory. A secure transition area is provided for competitors only; race and bike numbers correspond to racking positions, small bags or boxes are permitted inside transition, and bib and bike numbers will be checked.
Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. An exclusive event T-shirt is available to purchase for £12. Free parking is available for participants.
