BAMBURGH Castle Duathlons 2026

The Bamburgh Castle Duathlons take place on the Northumberland coastline, with the event base located at the car park on Links Road in Bamburgh. This multisport event features run segments on paths and trails within the castle grounds and cycling segments on open public roads.

Participants can choose between two main distances:

  • Sprint (Short) Duathlon: 5 km run, 20+ km cycle, and 2.5 km run.
  • Standard Duathlon: 10 km run, 40+ km cycle, and 5 km run.

The event allows any type of push bike and is open to participants aged 17 and over. Relay options are available for those who wish to complete the distances as a team. Because the cycling portion occurs on open roads, all competitors must follow the Highway Code and wear a cycling helmet.

A secure transition area is provided for competitors, where race and bike numbers correspond to specific racking spots. Small bags or boxes are permitted in this area. Bib and bike numbers are verified upon entry and exit to ensure security.

Professional timing services provide live chip timing for all participants. Upon completion, finishers receive a medal, merchandise, a snack, and a drink. Event t-shirts are also available for purchase during the registration process. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
