Event
Bamburgh Castle Duathlons take place at Bamburgh Castle, Northumberland, with the event location listed as Car Park, Links Road, Bamburgh, NE69 7AX. The runs use paths and trails around the castle grounds and the cycle sections use open roads along the Northumberland coast. The event offers a relay option and is open to entrants aged 17 and over.
Race details
- Sprint Duathlon: Run - 5km, Cycle - 20+km, Run - 2.5km
- Standard Duathlon: Run - 10km, Cycle - 40+km, Run - 5km
The event is held on open roads; the Highway Code must be followed and a cycling helmet is compulsory. Any type of push bike may be used. A secure transition area is provided for competitors only. Race number and bike number correspond to racking spots; small bags or boxes are permitted inside transition. Bike number must be attached and the helmet visible before entering transition. Bib and bike numbers will be checked before exiting transition.
Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, and a snack and drink. An exclusive event T-shirt is available to purchase for £12.
