Bamburgh Castle Duathlons
A weekend multisport event at Bamburgh Castle featuring Sprint and Standard duathlons, a new 10 km trail run and cycle sportives. The run routes use paths and trails around the castle grounds and the cycle routes use open roads along the Northumberland coastline.
Event location is Car Park, Links Road, Bamburgh, NE69 7AX. Any type of push bike may be used and a relay option is available for the duathlons.
Event distances
- Sprint Duathlon: Run 5 km, Cycle 20+ km, Run 2.5 km
- Standard Duathlon: Run 10 km, Cycle 40+ km, Run 5 km
- 10 km Trail Run
The event is held on open roads so the Highway Code must be followed and a cycling helmet is compulsory. There is a secure transition area for competitors only; race and bike numbers correspond to racking spots; small bags or boxes are permitted inside transition. Bike numbers must be attached and helmets visible before entering; bib and bike numbers will be checked before exiting transition.
Live chip timing is provided by Timing Up North. All finishers receive an event medal, Wild Deer merchandise, a snack and a drink. An exclusive event T shirt is available to purchase for £14 when signing up. On site parking is available for £4, with payment by cash or card.
