Baltonsborough Five Mile Road Race
The Baltonsborough event in Somerset is an annual road-racing meeting built around the Baltonsborough Five Mile race. The five mile race forms part of the Somerset Series and of the Somerset County Athletic Association county championship. The main five mile event is accompanied by shorter community races and a separate charity event in December.
Distances and associated events include:
- 5 miles road race
- 1.5 miles combined fun run
- 1.5 miles junior race
- Children's Rainbow Run with powder paint at points on the course
The fun run and junior race take place shortly after the main five mile race on the same day. After the road races the Baltonsborough Show takes place, and that show includes the children's Rainbow Run.
A charity "Christmas Pudding" race is held in December over the same course as the five mile race, with participants receiving a Christmas pudding and event proceeds donated to charity.
