Balsam Lake Freedom Fest 5K Run/Walk
The event is a community 5K run and walk held on July 4, 2026, in Balsam Lake Village on Main Street. The course starts and finishes on the south side of the Balsam Lake Village Hall. The event is sponsored by the Unity Lions Club and supports community and school projects, including scholarships, the fire department, the Senior Citizens Center, and holiday festivities.
The event is family and stroller friendly. Awards in the form of plaques and gift certificates are given for first place male and female in these age categories: Kids 1 to 10, Youth 11 to 18, Adult 18 to 64, and Senior 65 and older. New in 2026 there will also be one overall winner in a stroller category. All registrants receive a race shirt; available adult sizes are small, medium, large, x-large, and 2X.
Pre-race registrants may pick up bibs and shirts on Friday evening, July 3, at the Village Hall garage on the east side, or on Saturday morning at the race site. Limited race day registration is available by cash or check only. Water is provided on the course and at the finish line. Online registration accepts credit card payments through Race Roster.
If the event is cancelled for reasons beyond the sponsors control, all proceeds will benefit Unity Lions Club community and school projects. Registrations are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
