Balsam Lake Freedom Fest 5K Run/Walk
The Balsam Lake Freedom Fest 5K is a community run and walk held on Main Street in Balsam Lake Village. The course starts and finishes on the south side of the Balsam Lake Village Hall. The event is sponsored by the Unity Lions Club and proceeds support local community and school projects, including scholarships, the fire department, the Senior Citizens Center, and holiday festivities.
The event is family and stroller friendly; in 2026 an overall winner for the stroller category will be recognized. Plaques and gift certificates are awarded for first place in male and female divisions across age groups: Kids 1–10, Youth 11–18, Adult 18–64, and Senior 65 and older. All registrants receive a race shirt in adult sizes small through 2X.
Pre-race bib and shirt pickup is available the evening before and on the morning of the event. Limited race day registrations are accepted with payment by cash or check. Water is provided on the course and at the finish line. Registration is processed online with credit card via Race Roster. In the event of cancellation due to inclement weather or other circumstances beyond sponsor control, all proceeds will benefit Unity Lions Club projects and registrations are non-refundable and non-transferable.
