Balloon Run
Balloon Run takes place on October 3, 2026 at Bosque School in Albuquerque and uses views along the Rio Grande. The event offers three distances on out and back courses. The Half Marathon is new for 2026.

All participants receive a long sleeve race shirt and a finisher medal. The event uses professional chip timing and provides custom bibs, post-race snacks, and brews. Half Marathon and 10 Mile runners also receive a race hat, spike bag, sunglasses, and access to an energy gel station; the 10 Mile course notes an energy gel and water stop about halfway and the Half Marathon notes energy gels and water on course.
The race-day atmosphere includes music, hot air balloon views, photo opportunities, a costume contest prize, and overall and age group awards. The 5K warm-up is led by a 2020 and 2024 Olympian.
