Ballarat Duathlon
The Ballarat Duathlon takes place on Friday 25th September 2026 at Victoria Park, Corner Sturt Street and Gillies Road, Ballarat. The sprint distance hosts the 2026 Victorian Duathlon State Championship and is designated a World Qualifying Event for the 2027 Australian Age Group Team. The event also serves as Race 1 of the Triathlon Victoria Regional Series.
Races and age eligibility are:
- Sprint, Para Sprint, teams (14 years and older): 4.5 km run, 17.5 km bike (5 laps), 2 km run
- Dash and Para Dash (12 years and older): 2.5 km run, 10 km bike (3 laps), 1 km run
- Fun and Para Beginner (10 years and older): 1 km run, 3.4 km bike (1 lap), 0.5 km run
Ages are determined as at 31 December 2025. Distances and courses are subject to change due to permit requirements. The sprint race awards Victorian State Championship medals by AusTriathlon age-group and Para categories; eligibility and qualification for the State Championship and WQE are determined by AusTriathlon. Ballarat Triathlon Club awards medals across age, team, and Para Multiclass categories for Sprint, Dash, and Fun races. Entry fees vary by race and membership status and include a compulsory one-day license for non-members. Participants are required to follow AusTriathlon competition rules and event terms and conditions, and to bring appropriate equipment such as a bike, helmet, and running shoes.
