Ballarat Marathon
The Running Warehouse Ballarat Marathon is a two-day road running festival held in Ballarat, Victoria on 17 and 18 April 2027. The event uses flat, AIMS and World Athletics-certified courses through Ballarat's historic gold rush-era central business district. The festival is based at Ballarat Town Hall in Ballarat Central.
The program includes multiple distances and race formats on the weekend:
- Marathon
- Half Marathon and Wheelchair Half Marathon
- 10 km
- 5 km
- Community Mile
- Golden Mile
The event attracts a broad field of participants. In 2026 the festival recorded almost 12,000 registrations, involved 300 volunteers and included runners from 19 different countries. Organisers reported an estimated $6 million boost to the Ballarat economy from the 2026 event and $160,000 raised for charities.
Additional event features include an elite athlete program, race results and records, and an event schedule across the two days. The organisers acknowledge the Traditional Custodians of the land, the Wadawurrung and Dja Dja Wurrung People, and recognise their continuing connection to the land and waterways.
