Event

The Bakersfield Monster Mash Dash takes place on Sunday, October 25, 2026, at The Park at River Walk in Bakersfield, CA 93311. The event includes the following distances and formats:

5k Run/Walk
Kids Run (NOT TIMED), open to ages 9 and under
Virtual Run

Packet pickup is scheduled for Saturday, October 24, and additional pickup will be available on event morning.

Amenities and extras

Participants receive a glow-in-the-dark event shirt and a glow-in-the-dark finisher medallion. Children also receive a custom trick-or-treat bag. The event features a decorated course, Halloween music, treats for kids and adults, a costume contest, and a largest-group contest.

Awards and rules

The 5k is a timed race with age-group awards only. Age categories for 5k awards are: 10 and under; 11-19; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70 and over. The kids run is not timed and has no awards. Strollers are welcome; dogs are not allowed on the course. The race proceeds rain or shine and there are no refunds. The event’s charity partner is Kern County Youth and Family Resource Centers.
