Event Overview
The Bakersfield Monster Mash Dash is an annual Halloween-themed running event scheduled for October 25, 2026, at The Park at River Walk in Bakersfield, California. The event supports the charity partner Kern County Youth and Family Resource Centers.
Events
The event features three different participation options:
- 5k Run/Walk: A timed race with age group awards.
- Kids Run (NOT TIMED): A non-competitive run for children aged 9 and under.
- Virtual Run: An option to participate remotely.
Event Details
A costume contest is held before the races. A "Largest Group" contest is also part of the event. Strollers are permitted on the course, but dogs are not allowed for safety reasons. The event takes place regardless of weather conditions, and registration fees are non-refundable.
Participant Amenities
Registered participants receive several items, including a glow-in-the-dark finisher's medal and event shirt. All children receive a custom trick-or-treat bag. The course is decorated, and Halloween music is played. Treats are provided for both kids and adults.
Registration & Logistics
Packet pickup is available on the Saturday before the event and on the morning of the race. Registration prices for the 5k increase after August 17, 2026. Registration for the Kids Run and Virtual Run closes on October 25, 2026. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
