Dia de Los Muertos Half Marathon & 5K Run/Walk - Yokuts Park, Bakersfield
This event takes place on October 30, 2026, at Yokuts Park (4200 Empire Dr, Bakersfield, CA). The day includes multiple foot races, a community altar, folklorico dancing, music, and food items such as tacos, hot chocolate, and pan dulce.
Distances offered:
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles
- 5K Run/Walk - 3.1 miles
- 2 Mile Speed Walk - 2 miles
- Kids Fun Run - multiple short distances by age
The Kids Fun Run distances by age are: 7-10 years 400 m, 5-6 years 200 m, 3-4 years 100 m, 1-2 years 50 m, under 1 year 10 m.
Registration opens January 15, 2026; closing dates vary by race. Listed entry fees include $74 for the half marathon, $40 for the 5K, $40 for the 2 Mile Speed Walk, and a free kids fun run. Registrants before October 5 are guaranteed hoodies and coffee mugs; later registrants receive shirts. Half marathon finishers also receive some additional items such as a coffee mug and beanie.
Timing is chipped for the timed races. Awards and prizes listed for specific events include age group awards for the half marathon and 5K, $200 cash for the first male and female in the half marathon, a 30 oz coffee tumbler for the top five overall in the half marathon, and awards for the top three male and female in the 2 Mile Speed Walk.
