Bairnsdale Mini Tri
Bairnsdale Mini Tri is a weekly series of short triathlon races held on Wednesday evenings at Bairnsdale Aquatic and Recreation Centre (BARC) during the October to March season, with a short break over the Christmas and New Year period. The series features separate kids and senior waves, a points system that rewards personal best improvement, and a first-timer friendly setup where the first night often serves as a baseline.
Distances offered:
- Kids Micro: 25m swim, 1km cycle, 100m run.
- Kids Mid: 75m swim, 3km cycle, 500m run.
- Kids Long: 150m swim, 5km cycle, 1km run.
- Senior: 200m swim, 9km cycle, 2km run.
Course and venue notes describe a pool swim for kids, an off-road cycling section behind BARC and running on the wetlands path. Participants are advised to use BARC parking and allow time to unload and set up transition. Entry fees vary weekly from free to about five dollars for kids and up to about fourteen dollars for seniors depending on club and pool membership status.
Practical details emphasise bringing swim gear, a bike, helmet, runners, towel and a drink bottle, arriving early for registration and setup, and checking published results and gallery material after racing. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
