Rabid Raccoon 25k : Chattanooga, TN
The Rabid Raccoon 25K is a trail race organized by Bad Beard Events at Laurel Point on Raccoon Mountain in Chattanooga, Tennessee. The course runs across the north and west sides of the mountain and in 2027 will be run clockwise. Trails on the route include Megawatt, Grindstone Ridge, Lower Chunky, Live Wire 1 and 2, High Voltage, and Split Rock.
All entrants receive a shirt, a finisher prize, and post-race food. The event is cupless; runners must carry their own hydration pack or hand-held bottle. There are two aid stations supplying water, Gatorade, and common trail foods such as granola bars, gels, and gummy snacks. Medical services are provided by Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue Service.
Packet pickup is available early on January 8 at Hello Monty on Main Street and on race day at the start/finish area. There is a five-hour course cutoff. Awards are given to the first, second, and third overall male and female finishers. A portion of race proceeds benefits SORBA Chattanooga, a regional mountain-biking advocacy and trail-preservation organization. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
