Rabid Raccoon 25k : Chattanooga, TN
The Rabid Raccoon is a 25K trail race on Raccoon Mountain, starting at Laurel Point and covering the north and west sides of the mountain. The course uses singletrack trails including Megawatt, Grindstone Ridge, Lower Chunky, Live Wire 1 and 2, High Voltage, and Split Rock. The 2027 edition runs clockwise and runners have five hours to complete the course. All entrants receive a shirt, a finisher prize, and post race food and beverages.
The event is hosted by Bad Beard Events and includes two aid stations. This is a cupless race, so all runners must carry a hydration pack or handheld bottle; aid stations will offer water, Gatorade, and race snacks such as granola bars, gels, and chips. Medical services are provided by Chattanooga Hamilton County Rescue Service. Awards are given to the top three overall female and male finishers. A portion of race proceeds benefits SORBA Chattanooga to support trail access and preservation. Packet pickup is scheduled the day before at Hello Monty on Main Street and there is packet pickup at the start area on race day. There are no refunds and bibs may not be transferred.
