Back Your Badge Marathon
The Back Your Badge Marathon takes place Saturday September 19, 2026 to Sunday September 20, 2026 in Plainfield, Indiana. The event is based at the Richard A. Carlucci Recreation & Aquatic Center (Plainfield, IN 46168) and is presented by the Town of Plainfield to honor and support public safety agencies: police, fire, and communications.

The main course is USA Track & Field certified and highlights historic US 40, the Plainfield Parks Trail System, and segments that pass local police, fire, and communications facilities. The marathon is described as a Boston-qualifying course. Participants select an agency to represent; each mile completed is added to that agency’s total and the agency with the most combined miles receives a traveling trophy.
The event offers aid stations along the courses and category awards for overall and age groups. The Kids Fun Run is a separate, free event for children ages 0-11 with 1/2 mile and 1 mile options, parents may join, and finishers receive a medal. Proceeds support Public Safety Beneficent Programs, Local Youth Assistance Programs, and the Back Your Badge Paramedic Scholarship Fund.
