The event aims to support and honor public safety agencies, including police, fire, and communications departments. Participants have the opportunity to represent one of these agencies during their race. The organization tracks the total mileage completed for each agency, and the team with the highest combined distance is awarded a traveling trophy.
The event features several race distances held over two days:

- Kids Fun Run (1 Mile or 0.5 Miles)
The course is USA Track & Field Certified and passes through various notable areas of Plainfield. The route includes historic US 40, the Plainfield Parks Trail System, and locations near local police, fire, and communications facilities. Registration for the full marathon is open to individuals aged 16 and older, while the half marathon requires participants to be at least 10 years old. The Kids Fun Run is an untimed event designed for children aged 11 and younger.
