Back the Blue 5K: Deer Park, TX
This event is the sixth annual 5K organized for the Deer Park and La Porte communities. It takes place at the new Jimmy Burke Activity Center, located at 500 W 13th St, Deer Park, TX 77536. The event is held before the Back the Blue BBQ and Festival.
The run is listed as a 5K covering 3.1 miles. Participants may run, walk, or crawl. The exact race route is being re-evaluated and will be posted later; the terrain is expected to remain level roadway.
Registration details provided by the organizer include an opening date of May 27, 2026 and a closing date of August 1, 2026, with a registration fee of $30.00. The last day to register and receive a race t shirt is October 6. If shirts remain, they may be available on race morning.
Packet pickup is scheduled for Thursday, October 15 and Friday, October 16, with exact times to be determined. Participation is not limited to law enforcement; current law enforcement officers may obtain a discount code by contacting the organizers.
All proceeds from the event go to the Deer Park Police Officer's Association (501c4).
