Back On The Ranch Trail Run - Los Olivos, CA
Back On The Ranch is a timed trail running event held at the private Sand Creek Ranch in Los Olivos, California from October 2 to October 4, 2026. Runners complete repeated laps of a 3.4 mile loop with approximately 433 ft of elevation gain per lap. The course surface is a mix of hard-pack dirt road and soft single-track trail, about 95% dirt and generally runnable subject to weather.

- 12 hour with a daytime or nighttime segment option
- 6 hour
- 3 hour

A well stocked aid station serves the course every 3.4 miles and support is also available at individual campsites. Camping and parking are free and dispersed campsites are available on a first-come basis; primitive tent camping, car camping, RVs, and trailers are allowed but there are no hookups or running water. The ranch gate opens to participants on October 1 and closes on October 4.
All participants receive a custom souvenir T-shirt and a custom finisher amulet. Awards are presented to the top male and female in each division. Western style trophy buckles are awarded to 100 mile finishers in the 24 hour and 48 hour categories. There are no refunds, transfers, or deferrals.
