About the race
The Back On The Ranch Trail Run takes place October 2–4, 2026 at Sand Creek Ranch in Los Olivos, California. The event is organized by AllWeDoIsRun and is built around repeated laps of a measured loop course.
Distances and entries offered include:
- 48 hour
- 24 hour
- 12 hour
- 6 hour
- 3 hour
- Non-Runner
The course is a 3.4 mile loop with approximately 433 ft of elevation gain per loop. The surface is a blend of hard pack dirt road and soft single track, roughly 95 percent dirt and described as runnable subject to weather. Aid station support is available every 3.4 miles and at participants’ camps. Participants receive a custom souvenir tee shirt and a custom finisher amulet; awards are presented to the top male and female in each division. A western style trophy buckle is awarded to 100 mile finishers in the 24 hour and 48 hour events.
Camping and parking are free with dispersed campsites available on a first come basis. Primitive tent camping, car camping, RVs, and trailers are allowed; there are no hookups and no running water.
