Back On The Ranch Trail Run - Los Olivos CA

Back On The Ranch is a timed loop event held October 2–4, 2026 at the private Sand Creek Ranch in Los Olivos, California. This is the ninth annual running of the event and it uses a single marked loop for all timed divisions.

Participants complete as many 3.4 mile laps as possible within their chosen time limit. Available time divisions include:

The course is a 3.4 mile loop with approximately 400 feet of vertical gain per lap. The surface is a mix of hard pack dirt road and soft single track and is reported as mostly dirt. Aid and support are available every loop and at personal camps located along the course. Camping may be set up within a few feet of the loop.

Parking and camping are provided at no cost on a first come basis. Primitive tent camping, car camping, RVs and trailers are allowed; there are no hookups and no running water. All participants receive a custom souvenir tee shirt and a custom finisher amulet. Awards are given to the top male and female in each division, and a western style trophy buckle is awarded to 24 hour or 48 hour participants who reach a 100 mile finish.
