Course and logistics

The course is a loop of 3.4 miles with roughly 400 ft of elevation gain per lap. The surface is a mix of hard-pack dirt road and soft single-track trail, reported as about 95% dirt. Aid and support are available at a stocked aid station every loop and at personal camps. Camping and parking are free and available along the course; primitive tent camping, car camping, RVs, and trailers are permitted. There are no hookups or running water on site. All participants receive a custom souvenir T-shirt and a custom finishers amulet. Awards are presented to top male and female finishers in each division, and a western-style trophy buckle is provided for certain 100-mile finishers in the 24- and 48-hour categories.
