Back On The Ranch Trail Run : Sand Creek Ranch, Los Olivos, California
Back On The Ranch is a timed loop trail event held at the private Sand Creek Ranch in Los Olivos, California. Participants run repeated laps on a 3.4 mile loop with about 400 feet of elevation gain per lap. The surface is a mix of hard-pack dirt road and soft single-track trail, with roughly 95% dirt; conditions are subject to weather.
The event offers several timed formats:
- 48 hour event
- 24 hour event
- 12 hour event (day or night option)
- 6 hour event
- 3 hour event
- Non-Runner category
A well stocked aid station and support are provided every 3.4 miles and at participants' personal camps. Camping and parking are free and available on a first-come basis; dispersed campsites are allowed along the course. Primitive tent camping, car camping, RVs and trailers are permitted, with no hookups and no running water. Ranch access is by specified coordinates: 34°41'52.4"N 120°09'04.8"W.
All participants receive a custom souvenir tee shirt and a custom finishers amulet. Awards are presented to the top male and female in each division. A western style trophy buckle is awarded to 100 mile finishers in the 24 and 48 hour events. There are no refunds, transfers, or deferrals.
