Back 9 Endurance Run - Copper Harbor, MI
The Back 9 Endurance Run is a timed endurance event held on a 3.68 mile loop at Keweenaw Mountain Lodge in Copper Harbor, Michigan. The loop uses wooded trails, including the Back 9 Trails, and paths across the lodge's historic wilderness golf course. Periodic views of Brockway Mountain and Lake Superior appear along the course. The event takes place inside Keweenaw Dark Sky Park.
Distances and formats:

Team and solo rules require regular lap starts: team members must begin a new lap every hour, and solo runners must begin a new loop every two hours. Only one team member may be on the course at a time. Pacers are permitted for 24 hour participants beginning at dark through the finish. Support crews may occupy the gazebo. Littering on course results in disqualification.
Runners are responsible for their own shelter, clothing, food, hydration, and outdoor survival gear. Organizers provide a warm up shack and some food and hydration. Each runner enters lap times on the timing board under an honor system. Required items include a headlamp with extra batteries, rain gear, extra socks, a warm outer layer, and hats and gloves. Race officials may cancel for extreme weather and may remove or stop runners for safety. No partial laps are counted; final results use the last completed lap.
