Course, entries and facilities
The Half Marathon is one lap that starts and finishes at the main building inside Denbies. The route is mostly on trails, with undulating and very hilly sections on the North Downs escarpment, and includes parts of the Pilgrims Way and North Downs Way with views over the Mole Valley and Ranmore Common. Half Marathon runners visit five drinks stations (one visited twice) and can sample six wines; 10K runners visit two wine stations. Runners under the legal drinking age are offered soft drinks at the stations.
Entrants for the Half Marathon must be 18 or older. Standard entry fees listed are Half Marathon £69 and 10K £49. Finishers of the Half Marathon receive a technical t-shirt, a commemorative medal and a ticket to the post-race party; 10K entries include a party ticket and T-shirts are available for purchase in advance. The 2 km fun run is free, untimed, limited to 100 places, and includes a medal, drink and sweets.
On-site facilities include secure baggage, toilets and changing (no showers), free parking, catering and a post-race hog roast. There is musical entertainment at drink stations and at the finish. Headphones are permitted but runners must follow marshal instructions. Organisers do not use formal cut offs; tail walkers follow the course and clear it later in the day. Volunteers receive entry to a future event, a goody bag and a hog-roast ticket. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
