Event Overview
The Bacchus Wine Half Marathon and 10K is held at Denbies Wine Estate in Surrey. The event is known for its festive atmosphere with many participants in fancy dress, musical entertainment along the course, and drink stations offering English wine.
Distances and Courses
- Half Marathon: A single-lap, undulating and hilly trail route on the North Downs escarpment, taking in sections of the Pilgrims Way and North Downs Way.
- 10K: Follows the start of the half marathon route before returning through the vineyards to the finish.
- 2km Fun Run: A free, non-timed event for children under 12.
Drink Stations and Post-Race Party
Half marathon runners pass six wine stations, while 10K runners pass three. Participants over 18 can sample wines; under-18s and those who prefer not to drink alcohol have soft drinks available. The entry fee for the half marathon and 10K includes a ticket to a post-race party with food, a complimentary drink, and music. Non-participants can purchase food and drink at the party.
What's Included
Half Marathon finishers receive a gender-neutral technical t-shirt and a commemorative medal. A party ticket is included. 10K participants receive a commemorative medal and a party ticket; the t-shirt is an additional cost if purchased in advance. 2km Fun Run participants receive a medal, a drink, and sweets. All participants get access to free digital download race photographs.
Venue and Logistics
Denbies Wine Estate offers free parking, secure baggage storage, toilets, and changing facilities. The venue features a restaurant, farm shop, and wine and gift shop.
