Bacchus Wine Half Marathon & 10K
The Bacchus event is a combined half marathon and 10K held at Denbies Wine Estate, London Road, Dorking, RH5 6AA. It combines running with wine tasting, food, music and a strong element of fancy dress. Both the 10K and the half marathon sold out in 2024.
The organisers describe the event as fun focused while retaining the elements of a properly managed race: an accurate, well-marked course, chip timing, medical support and finisher medals. The route weaves through Denbies Vineyard and parts of the North Downs. The terrain is scenic and undulating; several reviews note the course is hilly and that fast times are unlikely.
Practical details included by the organiser:

Car parking is free for competitors and spectators. Two main car parks are used with a third as overflow; the car parks are about a five minute walk from the start, finish and the Denbies main building. The venue is also within walking distance of local rail stations; Dorking Station is under 1 km and Box Hill & Westhumble Station is under 2 km from the estate.
Participant feedback in past years highlights strong atmosphere, plentiful music and an after event meal and party, alongside occasional issues such as congested refreshment stops and limited water at some stations. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
