Babcock Shettleston 10K
The Babcock Shettleston 10K is a road race held around Glasgow Green. The event in 2026 will host the Scottish 10K Championships and is organised by Shettleston Harriers as a Scottish Athletics permit event.
The race uses a traffic-free, flat course that passes local landmarks such as the People's Palace and the Royal Doulton fountain. Organisers describe the course as suitable for personal best performances. The Shettleston event is the first race in the Babcock 10K series, which has been held for over four decades.
Additional event features include a commemorative medal and a goody bag with running accessories for each race, a piece of Babcock 10K merchandise, and spot prizes supplied by Start Fitness. The series offers prize money, with £6,000 allocated for leading individuals across the series.
Facilities around Glasgow Green include ample parking and public toilets. The 10K is open to runners aged 16 years or older on race day. There is also a separate 2K Fun Run for children; this includes a medal, a bottle of water, and a biscuit.
