Babcock Shettleston 10K
The Babcock Shettleston 10K is part of the Babcock 10K Series and is organised under a Scottish Athletics permit by Shettleston Harriers. The race takes place on a traffic free, flat course around Glasgow Green, passing historical buildings such as the People's Palace and the Royal Doulton fountain, which provide a visible backdrop to the route.
The event forms the first race of the series. There is a series prize pot of £6,000 for leading individuals across the series. Facilities around Glasgow Green include ample parking and public toilets. The main 10 km race is open to runners aged 16 years or older. A separate 2 km Fun Run is available for children; that entry includes a medal, a bottle of water and a biscuit and is priced at £3.50.
