Babcock Helensburgh 10K

The Babcock Helensburgh 10K is an established road running event held in the Victorian seaside resort of Helensburgh. Organised by Helensburgh AAC, the race operates under a Scottish Athletics permit and serves as the final event in the Babcock 10K series. The competition has a long history, spanning 43 years, and is open to runners aged 16 years or older.

The course consists of a single 10 km circuit that is noted for being fast and largely flat. Participants run on a route that benefits from full road closures, ensuring an entirely traffic-free experience. The path takes runners through various parts of the town on quiet, well-marshalled roads.

The event is hosted at Hermitage Academy, which serves as both the starting and finishing point. The venue provides comprehensive on-site facilities including car parking, changing rooms, toilets, showers, and catering services. Prize presentations are also conducted at this location.

Each participant receives a unique commemorative medal, a piece of Babcock 10K merchandise, and a goody bag containing running accessories. The event offers significant prize money for leading individuals across the series, as well as spot prizes. The race accommodates a wide range of participants, from Olympic athletes and club members to recreational runners. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
