Babcock Helensburgh 10K
Babcock Helensburgh 10K is the final race of the Babcock 10K series, now 43 years old. Organised by Helensburgh AAC under a Scottish Athletics permit, the event is a 10 km road race based at Hermitage Academy, Cardross Road, Helensburgh (G84 7LA).
The course is a single circuit that takes in much of the Victorian seaside resort. It is described as fast and largely flat. The route benefits from full road closures and is entirely traffic free, with quiet roads and marshals along the course.
Hermitage Academy provides facilities for the event, including car parking, changing rooms, toilets, showers, catering and space for prize presentations. The race is open to runners aged 16 years or older.
The series offers financial prizes and participant items: £6,000 in prizes for leading individuals over the series, a unique commemorative medal and a goody bag with running accessories at each race, a piece of Babcock 10K merchandise and spot prizes from Start Fitness.
