B-INSPIRED 5K
The event comprises a professionally timed 5K run across the Iowa Arboretum property and a short Kids Dash for children. The 5K course is mostly flat and uses a mix of pavement, crushed rock, and trails that run throughout the Arboretum grounds. The Kids Dash takes place on a paved route around the treehouse village and is open to ages 4–10; wheelchairs, walkers, and mobility chairs are welcome.

- 5K - professionally timed, mostly flat, mixed pavement, crushed rock, and trail surfaces.
- 100 m Kids Dash - paved loop around the treehouse village for ages 4–10.
Event logistics and amenities include food offerings such as cheese at the finish, breakfast burritos from Weather or Naut Catering, and a coffee truck with purchases required. Packet pickup is available the morning of the race beginning at 7:30. Registration fees listed are $35.00 for the 5K and $10.00 for the Kids Dash; the Kids Dash fee covers only that dash and includes a small prize at the finish. Event t-shirts are not included with Kids Dash registration but can be added during registration.
Additional participant notes: children under 10 may walk the 5K for free with a registered adult; participants over age 10 must register for the 5K. Prizes are awarded for 1st place men and women in the 5K and 1st overall kid under 18. The event supports the B-Inspired Scholarship for a Boone High School senior pursuing entrepreneurship or a career in fitness, sports, or wellness.
