Awesum Possum Lake Trail Adventure in Memory of Steve Fealtman
This event takes place at Opossum Lake Park in Carlisle, PA, and is organized in memory of Steve Fealtman. It uses sections of the Anglers Access Trail, including a new bridge and additional park trails that circle the lake.
Event options:
- 6 mile obstacle course
- 4 mile run
- 4 mile walk
The course crosses mixed terrain: grassy fields, pavement, rocks, roots, and possible mud. Participants will pass lake-side viewpoints and may encounter wildlife. Results are chip timed and awards are given to top male and female finishers plus age-bracket awards three deep every five years.
For the 6 mile obstacle course, a penalty of about 15 burpees is applied for failed or bypassed obstacles. Recommended items for that event include gloves, towels, and a change of clothes. There is limited shelter at the park, so participants are outdoors for the duration. Pets are asked to stay home. Parking at the lake is limited, with additional parking within walking distance. Snacks and refreshments will be provided.
All proceeds support the Friends of Opossum Lake Conservancy, a 501(c)(3) organization focused on restoring and preserving the lake. Shirt and bib pick up are available at the Opossum Lake pavilion on the day before and the day of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
