Autumn Run : Buena Vista, Colorado
The Autumn Run is held each year on the third weekend in September in and around Buena Vista, Colorado, in the upper Arkansas River Valley at the base of the Collegiate Peaks. The event uses McPhelemy Park as its start/finish hub and includes on-course maps, elevation profiles, and course descriptions for each distance.
Distances offered
- Half Marathon - shuttle recommended; stroller participants must provide their own transport to the start
- 10K - course open to strollers
- 5K - course open to strollers
- Family Fun Run - free event, no registration required
Registration is completed online and by card only; registration may close early if participant caps are met. Packet pickup is available the day before and on race day at McPhelemy Park. Shuttle buses are provided to reduce crowding at the narrow start area and because parking at the start is limited.
Race operations note that animals are not allowed on any race course; dogs may remain near the start/finish if leashed and kept controlled at least 20 feet from the start/finish line. Awards are given to the top three male and female finishers for each run. All participants receive a race shirt, a commemorative finisher item, and a collapsible Hydrapak speed cup as part of a cupless sustainable racing program. A portion of proceeds is donated to designated beneficiaries. The event operates under a special use permit with the Pike San Isabel National Forest.
